DUI risk education

Explore course content, enrollment requirements, participation, and completion documentation.

Before enrollment: Confirm service availability, professional qualifications, fees, and acceptance by your referring authority with Amazing Grace DUI. This guide is not a clinical assessment or legal advice.

What risk education covers

Risk education examines how alcohol and other drugs affect driving, personal decisions, and other people. It is educational rather than a substitute for treatment. Illinois specifies a minimum of 10 instructional hours, divided across at least four different days, with sessions no longer than three hours.

Before enrollment

The provider must obtain a completed evaluation recommending risk education. Review your written recommendation first, then confirm the class format, schedule, current fee, and acceptance by the referring court or agency.

Participate and complete the course

Expect identity verification, attendance requirements, and knowledge checks. Illinois requires full attendance in sequence and a passing post-test score of at least 75 percent. A completion certificate follows successful completion; ask how it will reach you and the relevant authority.

Questions to settle before you begin

Use the enrollment guide to keep your first conversation focused.

  • Which evaluation and photo identification should I provide?
  • What happens if I miss a session or have a connection problem?
  • How are identity and participation checked for an online class?
  • Does my recommendation also include early intervention or treatment?
  • When and how is the certificate supplied?
